walk with knowledge
Important Information
Camino Confidence- Important information
- Camino Confidence offers fully guided walking trips, pilgrimage experiences and supplementary activities to groups of women who may otherwise be unable to enjoy the Camino due to many different reasons including: a lack of confidence, overwhelm, anxiety, health issues and lack of time to plan. We are passionate about the walks we arrange, and hope that those of you sharing these experiences with us are instilled with that same passion.
- We are not offering a 5* service or luxury tours. However, we personally hand-pick good standard accommodation, itineraries and adventures that are based on our own experiences and the requirements of each group. If you have any questions or concerns, please discuss them fully with me via zoom, Messenger or Whatsapp in advance of booking so that you feel confident that one of our adventures is for you.
- We are experienced guides and accompany all adventures. Our role as your guide is to accompany the group, help to organize logistics, offer our experience and background knowledge and smooth over any issues that should arise so that you can relax and enjoy the experience.
- Invariably, there will be times when our group has to stay together, eat together and be at certain places at certain times together. However, outside of these group commitments, you are of course free to take each day as you wish.
- We completely understand that everyone walks at a different pace and we will do our upmost to facilitate that. However, we prefer that the group walks together at least until each of you has found their preferred pace and are feeling more confident and comfortable with the signage etc. We will reassess this after the first day. It is extremely important to us that you experience the Camino through your own eyes, not ours.
- We are fully legal to work in Spain and therefore have civil liability insurance, but we cannot accept responsibility for loss of personal property, personal injury or medical issues that arise during our walk we do strongly advise that you have full and comprehensive travel insurance and that you talk to your doctor before embarking on long distance walking adventures. (please read Terms and Conditions)
- I strongly recommend that you make yourself aware of any travel restrictions in advance of your travel and it is your responsibility to ensure that you have all the relevant documents required.
- We reserve the right to remove from the group any person who displays unnaturally disturbing behaviour, poses a physical or mental threat to the guide or other members of the group: or, imposes a negative effect on the well-being on the guide or any of the other participants.
Travel and Medical insurance
- Our tours don’t do not include flights or Travel Insurance but we highly recommend you book both for your Camino de Santiago trip. It is essential to purchase the right travel insurance when you are travelling overseas. Travel insurance will help you to minimize the financial risks in case of illness, accidents, theft, lost luggage and emergencies when you are travelling. Also, in order to avoid any losses please opt for completely refundable flights and other services.
- It is important to research the types of Travel Insurance for the Camino coverage available before you travel to any destination. Policies will vary in terms of what is included in a travel insurance package. Does it include medical cover? Does it include baggage insurance? Does it include flight cover? These are the types of questions you should be asking when purchasing any travel insurance for your Camino tour.
- Basic Travel Insurance cover generally includes:
- Emergency medical care abroad, personal accident, out-patient medical expenses, repatriation (Sometimes).
- When things go wrong with your travel plans: If the trip is cancelled, if you miss your departure if there’s any travel delay if you lose your luggage, travel home care.
- Losing money, passport and other important items: including lost passport expenses, lost money, cover personal liability, legal expenses.
Depending on where you are travelling from your health insurance may not include travel medical insurance cover. Be sure to check with your provider before you travel abroad. Remember if you have any medical conditions talk to your doctor well in advance of your trip.
Medical Declaration
You will be requested by Camino Confidence to complete a medical questionnaire prior to your walk. I strongly recommend that you are 100% accurate with your answers, firstly for your own safety and also because your medical insurance could be rendered null and void if you suffer any medical problems during your walk that have not been disclosed.
If you answer yes to any of the medical questions, we must advise you that, depending on the issue we may request a letter from your doctor confirming that you are able to participate.
Please be aware of any flight regulations for carrying prescription medication. Ensure that you have sufficient supplies for the course of your journey and have taken the necessary precautions before attempting to walk the Camino. European travellers can also use their European Medical Card to access emergency health care in other European countries.
